Trish recognized by the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame
Trish Stratus was honored Monday night at the 2017 Ontario Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Awards Gala. OSHOF is an association that honors sports athletes and personalities for their outstanding achievement in sports in Ontario, Canada.
Trish received the Sandy Hawley Community Service Award for her philanthropic efforts and her continued contributions to the community. Past recipients include Adriano Belli and Daryl Sittler.
"To be a part of this evening and share the stage with some of Canada's finest athletes is incredible," Trish said. "When you serve your community, you don't do it for the recognition, so to receive this award, to me it simply means, the work I have done has raised awareness and that's half the battle – to have people acknowledging these organizations or individuals I have worked with over the years."
Trish closed the night of ceremonies but not before the induction of 6 new members. The Class of 2017 welcomed Paul Coffey, John Campbell, Bob Allan, Marnie McBean, Bob Gainey and John Hiller.
