Enter the Stratusphere ... In Java!
For this episode, I travelled to an island that
is just over an hour plane ride from Bali. Most
people have heard of Bali when I mention that I
travelled to Indonesia, but not many have even
heard of this remote, beauty of an island –
Java.
Usually for the show I would choose an activity
to tackle – but Java presented such a unique
setting this episode was a little different.
Instead we decided to focus the show around
elements that make up the essence of Java, with
a visit to the local village, exploring
Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple,
and I also got a chance to learn the ancient
Indonesian fighting art known as Penjat Silat.

The moment we arrived at our resort we knew this
was going to be a special trip. Upon
arrival we were welcomed by local village
girls, dressed in traditional sarongs, and they
showered us with fresh scented rose petals then
I was escorted to my private villa which was one
of the most beautiful rooms I've ever stayed in
– and the private pool in my courtyard didn't
hurt either!
This trip was felt so laid back – even though
the shooting schedule was the same as the
others, something about this place just made the
pace feel easy going, like a giant exhale!
Elephant rides, yoga on my beautiful terrace,
learning yet another fight style to deliver
Stratusfaction – I'd have to say Java was one of
my favorite trips of the series.
