Trish heads to the Maritimes to support the Boys and Girls Club of Summerside
The Boys and Girls Club of Summerside's biggest event – a two-day Celebrity Golf Tournament and Celebrity Dinner – takes place this week with a lineup of sports stars who will hit the beautiful coast town of Summerside, Prince Edward Island to help raise funds to support the club's breakfast and after school programs as well as their Youth Engagement Centre.
The event kicks off with the Re/Max Harbourside Celebrity Dinner Monday night at Credit Union Place. Trish joins the head table of sports greats, including Summerside's own, Florida Panthers head coach, Gerard Gallant and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Heather Moyse, Boston Bruins defenceman Adam McQuaid, one of hockey's greatest players Guy Lafleur and guest speaker Michael "Pinball" Clemons, to name a few of the celebrities coming out to support the club. Trish will join Gallant in presenting the Boy and Girl of the Year award. Named after his brother, long time club member Larry Gallant, the award is given to the boy and girl who demonstrates good leadership skills, positive attitude and is a positive role model for other club members.
The golfers will then hit the greens for the 12th annual Celebrity Golf Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday with a total of 80 teams who will each have a celeb join their three member team.
Although it is known Trish enjoys partaking in a fierce game of golf, what she is most looking forward to is visiting the Boys and Girls Club and meeting the kids who will benefit from this 3-day event.
"All the stars supporting this event are role models and exemplify leadership," says Trish. "To be able to meet the kids in person and chat with them is going to be a highlight for us – and for them, no doubt."
Executive Director Adam Binkley couldn't be more thrilled to have Trish onboard.
"We are extremely proud that Trish will be speaking to our female members and illustrate to them that they can achieve any goals they set their mind to, make a major impact in the lives of others, and the importance of being confident, strong and empowering as they achieve these dreams."
