Trish Stratus partnered up with the Power of Movement, Canada's largest
fundraiser which benefits the Arthritis Research Foundation, because the
cause was near and dear to her. After watching her grandmother suffer
with arthritis she decided she wanted to get involved. Stratusphere
became the host studio for the GTA and all the classes were donation
based last Sunday. But when Trish mentioned the cause and the struggles
her "Babcia" was going through to her Stratuspherians via her social
media. Suddenly, it looked like Stratuspherians would be supporting her
cause not just in her studio, but online as well as dozens of tweets
poured in with gratitude for the opportunity to help. Fellow arthritis
suffers told their story or the story of a loved one battling with this
debilitating disease.
"I'm completely overwhelmed by the support shown by everyone," Trish
said following the event which ran Sunday in Toronto and across the
country. "I know my grandmother would be so delighted to see so many
people supporting this cause."
The day was a huge success, with the Foundation receiving tens of
thousands of dollars for important research in the fight against
arthritis.
Stratuspherians will soon learn the winner of the Trish Stratus action
figures and receive their 8x10s in the mail in the coming weeks.
"It looks like I'm going to have a sore wrist by the time the last photo
is signed, but it is so worth it! Thank you everyone, from the bottom of
my heart," Trish said.
