Trish reveals the Spring/Summer New Balance line
Bringing together design, unique color combinations, star power and a little bit of science, the New Balance Spring/Summer 2014 collection was revealed this week at a media preview day hosted by Strut Entertainment. Dozens of national media dropped by the Spoke Club in Toronto to get their first look at the new collection which included New Balance's apparel line, the new "Psyche" series of sports bras – a new line of sports bras for women with varying needs and style preferences, and of course, the stars of the day – their shoes, both lifestyle and training.
Notable appearances was the debut of the 711 and the FreshFoam 980. Featuring New Balance's CUSH+ midsole compound, the 711 is a versatile shoe that goes from studio and circuit training to cardio workouts without sacrificing style.
"These are the shoes I would pack when I'm traveling and I don't want to overpack - they are a great all round go-to shoe", says Trish. "The FreshFoam on the other hand are hot! I'm loving the bright accents – and, these are literally the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn on my runs. Right now, I'm on the treadmill – I can't wait to hit the roads with these once this ice melts!"
The FreshFoam 980 introduces a breakthrough design for runners, designed with innovative technologies, they provide a revolutionary approach to neutral running by combining ultra-plush cushioning with a reduced drop from heel to forefoot and offering a super soft, bouncy ride that protects runners without sacrificing speed.
The shoes were not the only thing bringing the star power to this event – new mom Trish Stratus was also in attendance. Stratus brought her keen sense of design to New Balance's annual preview event when she sat down with the media to design a custom pair of New Balance's retro-running lifestyle shoe, the 574. The stratusfying design will be released as part of a contest which will have Trish's handpicked colors, using millions of different color combinations, appear on 15 separate areas of the shoe, And that shoe, will be on the feet of a special Stratuspherian!
