GolfScene: A couple of rounds with Canada's Champ

What got you interested in the game of golf?

The plethora of invites I get to participate in celebrity golf tournaments! The more tournaments I attended, the more interested and eager I was to learn about the game. I guess the competitive side in me wasn't content to just attend these events and take a few swings – not going to lie – I thought why not take bragging rights for a well played game too while I'm at it!

How's your experience with golf been thus far?

I've grown to appreciate the game and particularly what it does for someone who has a hectic lifestyle. Initially I thought "My life is so busy, I don't have time to play golf" but then I approached golf like I do yoga. With my yoga practice – it is a 90 minute session – who has time for that? But, I know that when I do my yoga regularly, that the break from the ‘go-go' of it all is what allows me to, at the end of the day, get it all done. With golf, when I utilized that time to have a meeting that would have otherwise taken place in some boardroom or when I walk away from a morning of golf feeling calm and relaxed and then enter a meeting, I realized golf is also a great tool to help keep it all balanced.

Driving Range vs Mini Putt?

Again, it is all about balance – both are equally important.

Is golf too serious?

Not when I'm on the course!

When she's not on the greens, what is TS up to these days?

I just finished filming a travel-adventure documentary called Stratusphere, which is currently airing on the travel+escape network. Now that I'm back, most days I'm at my yoga studio in Vaughan, Ontario – also called Stratusphere where I can be found doing yoga, developing my brand, building my empire - just following my plan to slowly take over the world – one yoga studio at a time!

Yoga vs Golf? (can Yoga help one's golf game)

Two key elements that any golfer will tell you are important are flexibility and relaxation. Both of these can be enhanced by incorporating even a very minimal amount of yoga into your fitness routine. Of course, by incorporating yoga into your everyday routine can provide even greater benefits, such as improving posture, maintaining focus without tension by increasing your body awareness, strengthening and toning your core muscles needed for your swing.

Favourite Golfer?

Mike Weir – we canucks gotta support each other. Happy Gilmour comes in as a close second.

Ultimate 4some?

Oprah, Deepak Chopra, Jim Carrey

One thing even those passionate WWE fans don't know about TS?

She's a golfer.

Quick fitness tip that will help everyone's golf games?

Doing a quick warm up with a 10-15 minute sequence of yoga poses that focus on your alignment, posture and range of motion will allow your muscle memory to kick in - which will continue to serve you well throughout your game.
