Muse.ca: Trish Stratus & Michael Seater to guest star in Family Biz
Muse Entertainment announced the addition of two guest-starring spots on their half-hour comedy series Family Biz currently filming in Ottawa.
Michael Seater, the popular star of Disney Channel's hit show Life with Derek, guest-stars as Warren Silver, the Keller family's new intern. He helps the father Dave Keller run the household much to the annoyance of the Keller teenagers Eli, Ronnie and Avalon.
"Michael will bring his own comic spin to the character of Warren Silverman - Eli's nemesis. This should be fun," says Executive Producer and Series Creator James Nadler.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Champion wrestler Trish Stratus plays herself In a hilarious episode where she wrestles Eli down to teach him a thing or two about being honest.
"Trish Stratus will bring a lot of fun -- and body slams -- to the show," adds Producer Jesse Prupas.
Michael Seater and Trish Stratus will shoot their spots next week.
An international co-production between Canada's Muse Entertainment, Summit Crescent Productions and France's Breakout Films, Family Biz centers around three latch key kids, Eli (16), Avalon (15) and Ronnie (11), who have the run of the Keller house. Their corporate parents are too busy at work and teen insanity rules! That is until their Dad, Dave Keller, gets downsized (okay...fired) and decides to work from home in the Keller attic. To feel useful, Dave launches the Keller Family Corp. and sets about "reinvolving" himself in the lives of his teenage kids, much to his offspring's total embarrassment. Whenever a problem occurs Dad looks to his years of business knowledge to find the solution, whether it is getting to know his kids through in-depth marketing surveys or outsourcing all their phone messages to India. But mostly he just drives the Keller kids mad...too bad the kids can't just fire Dad!
The series stars Ephraim Ellis as Eli (Falcon Beach), Rebecca Windheim as Ronnie (The Last Templar) and introduces Kate Corbett in the role of Avalon. Doug Murray (How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days) is the over-enthusiastic and clueless dad, while Lori Alter (The Cheetah Girls) takes on the role of Mom, a high powered executive who jet-sets off to meetings and leaves Dad to deal with the kids.
Michael Prupas (Human Trafficking) of Muse Entertainment, James Nadler of Summit Productions and Georges Campana (Touching Wild Horses) of Breakout Films, act as executive producers on the series. Jesse Prupas (I Me Wed) is producing and Astrid Lecerf (Paradise Found) is co-producing. Directors for the first season are Stefan Scaini (Degrassi: TNG), Craig Pryce (Life with Derek), Luc Chalifour (PSI Factor), Franois Basset (Star Hunter) and Reid Dunlop (Traders). Writers for the series include Nadler, Executive Story Editor Steve Westren (The Zack Files), Chris Dickie (The Outer Limits) and Steve Schnier (Atomic Betty).
Family Biz will air on YTV in Canada, and on France 2 and Canal + Famille in France. ContentFilm International is the international distributor.
