Nassau Coliseum: Trish returns to an arena with personal meaning
Emotions will be running wild on Sunday at WWE Evolution as Trish Stratus returns to Nassau Coliseum in Long Island for this historic event – the very same building she made her WWE debut on March 19, 2000.
Stratus teams with her long time rival, friend and at times foe, Lita to take on Alexa Bliss & Mickie James at the first-ever all-women's PPV.
"It feels like I'm coming full circle to be having this event take place at the same building I took my first steps into the WWE world," says Trish. "I was a manager, an accessory, a sideshow, as most women were at the time. And this weekend, we are the show. I'm honored to be a part of this very important moment for women in our sport. From debuting as a valet to returning as a Hall of Famer – now that's Evolution."
The perfect scenario almost never happened.
In 2016, Nassau Coliseum was to close its door and became an entertainment center but plans changed and the arena was reopened a year later after undergoing renovations.
Just as she did in 2000, Trish plans on leaving fans on the Island stratusfied one more time.
