Met Con Blue - Mountain Adventure Race guarantees participants will be Stratusfied!
Feb 22, 2012 – Collingwood, ON – Met Con Blue is delighted to announce they will be bringing Stratusfacton to the hills of Blue Mountain Resort. On Saturday, June 2 2012, thousands of the country's toughest will tackle the most insane 5km mountain race on the planet and it's only fitting that one of the country's toughest competitors will be on hand to lead the charge. Trish Stratus, 7-time WWE Women's Champion and fitness icon has signed on as the face of Met Con Blue, what is sure to be Canada's most insane 5km obstacle adventure race.
Stratus says, "This race has everything I loved about competing with WWE – participants of the race will be challenged to their physical limits with the obstacle course and even better will be the sense of accomplishment they will get once they complete it."
Met Con Blue is a grueling 5 kilometers with 13 hardcore obstacles strategically placed throughout the course which takes place at Ontario's largest mountain resort. Participants can choose to take part in the regular timed race with age brackets, Met Con Blue's signature Hunt or be Hunted Race or the Heroes Race which features a chance to run the race alongside real brave soldiers who sacrifice their lives for us – 50% of the proceeds from this race will go to a Canadian Forces Solider On Fund. Teens aged 12-17 can take part in the Teen Core Challenge, and for children under the age of 12, there will be a free children's obstacle course set up in the Blue Mountain Village. Supporting events such as vendor area, beer garden, live bands and after parties will be taking place throughout the event.
Early-bird registration is available until Wednesday February 29, 2012. Participants save $20 and will be entered into a contest to win a camera kit by GoPro, maker of the world's most versatile cameras and producer of some of today's most engaging sports programming. This lucky winner will also have a camera crew film them and their friends for the duration of the complete race and will receive an edited production of their own personal adventure.
