The Second City's Next Comedy Legend - Episode 2

With Calgary and Vancouver down, two more cities were left to go Halifax and Toronto.

First: Halifax, where tens of people showed up to audition. So, are Haligonians funny, aside from their kind of funny name for themselves?

Well, as Joe Flaherty put it as the auditions started to drag on, "If I were giving a party and wanted to invite really witty guests, I wouldn't invite these people." A few showed up unprepared and tried to wing it, which meant a busy day for the shredder. Joe nodded off while Mick found some "so horrific that it rendered me immobile." Still, ten people got to come back for Day Two and face the hung over judges. After a day of improv and sketches, five of them Keira, Ian, Robert, Graham and Andrew escaped the shredder. Just two will get picked for the show.

Next Toronto, where auditioners tried for laughs by getting naked. "None of the girls take their clothes off, which is starting to get uninteresting to me," Joe said. Those words came back to haunt him when Sumo Girl appeared and brought a little naked gender equality. Some old guys showed up from Air Farce, Elvira sat on Trish's lap and 11 people got called back for the next day. After Day Two, the judges chose six people to stay: Ken, Jamie, Meagan, Montana, Ali and Andrew.

Finally, Trish ambushed the chosen four with the good news. Ian and Robert in Halifax, and Megan and Jamie in Toronto.

So now the judges are down to eight two from each city. "There's a person among the eight and I'd be surprised right now if (the Next Comedy Legend) wasn't that person," person," Elvira said.
