'Gridlocked' - new movie featuring Trish Stratus - to premiere at Fantastic Fest
Trish Stratus as "Gina"It was announced today that Gridlocked, the new feature film starring Trish Stratus, will have its world premiere at Fantastic Fest at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, TX.
Billed as the largest genre film festival in the U.S., specializing in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action and just plain fantastic movies from all around the world, Fantastic Fest has been the launch point for numerous films, including Zombieland, There Will be Blood and, most recently, Keanu Reeves' comeback movie John Wick.
Additionally, the Alamo Drafthouse was recently named best cinema in America by Entertainment Weekly.
"I was excited to hear we have a premiere date," Stratus said, "and even more excited that it will be at Fantastic Fest and at the famous Alamo Drafthouse. To have our movie be seen by the public for the first time at this amazing event, is just incredible."
Gridlocked was filmed in 2014 in Toronto and directed by Allan Ungar. Stratus is part of an ensemble cast that stars Dominic Purcell (Prison Break), Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Cody Hackman (Tapped Out), Vinnie Jones (X-Men: The Last Stand) and Saul Rubinek (True Romance).
"We couldn't be happier about joining this year's lineup for Fantastic Fest," Ungar said. "It's a festival known for celebrating the best in genre films, and I can't think of a better way to launch Gridlocked."
Trish is expected to be in attendance when the film premieres this September.
