Exclusive: Inside Trish Stratus' baby shower, plus Baby Stratus' gender revealed
Trish Stratus is getting ready to welcome her first baby in September and she celebrated the impending birth with a baby shower – and we were invited!
Since Trish announced that she was expecting during her Hall of Fame speech last April, everyone has been eagerly anticipating the arrival of 'Baby Stratus', the non-gender specific name Trish's unborn has adopted since then. After attending the event, we are excited to share with you that Baby Stratus is a BOY! And, we can now call him Maximus (or Max for short!).
"We were so excited to find out we are having a son! The moment we found out the sex and we were able to call him by his name, we really began to bond with him. I can visualize him and see him in my dreams, and to be able to call him by his name just brings you closer to your baby," Trish beamed, "It's funny; everyone (myself included at times), is so used to calling him 'Baby Stratus' – I guess he already has a nickname!"
Trish was absolutely glowing as she welcomed about 45 guests to the Trio restaurant in Vaughan. She looked stunning in a strapless, black lace dress to which she added a baby blue ribbon to celebrate her baby boy.

The party colors were baby blue and white and the decor had a rustic theme which was derived from the baby's nursery. We learned Trish was very hands on in creating the look and feel of the event, starting from the very first step – the invites.
As guests arrived they were served 'Maximus Sweet Tea', a special blend of gourmet loose leaf tea that Trish hand selected and named after her son. After signing Max`s baby book, the ladies were asked to leave a note in Max's wish box which Trish has plans to include in a scrapbook she has already started for him.
The first thing that caught our eye was the beautifully crafted baby blue and white candy buffet that was backdropped against a handcrafted wooden wall which carried the rustic theme into the venue. It was a candy lover's dream offering a delicious assortment of blue and white treats including Greek yogurt-covered pretzels, cupcakes and cake pops.
The menu included an antipasto bar, unique appetizers like avocado bruschetta, four different gourmet pizzas, mini pulled pork sandwiches, shaved beef and burger sliders – a perfect compliment with the sweet potato fries that were served to guests tables with a variety of dipping sauces.
Next up was the games, like 'Name the baby animal' and 'How well do you know Mama Stratus'. As the games were winding down, guests were served Martini glasses filled with white cheddar popcorn to signal that the candy buffet and dessert table was open.
As guests left they were given an ice tea kit with a 'Stratusphere Tea' stainless steel bottle, a honey stick, and a serving of 'Maximus Sweet Tea'. The tea is now available as part of Trish`s current line of wellness teas.
