Met Con Blue - Mountain Adventure Race and BBQ Championship guarantees participants will be Stratusfied with fun, food, and fitness!
May 3, 2013 – Collingwood, ON – Met Con Blue is elated to announce they will be bringing Stratusfacton back to the hills of Blue Mountain Resort. On Saturday June 15th, 2013, thousands of the country's toughest will tackle the most insane 5 & 10 km mountain obstacle adventure race on the planet and it's only fitting that one of the country's toughest competitors will be on hand to lead the charge. Trish Stratus, 7-time WWE Women's Champion, Hall of Fame Inductee and fitness icon, continues to rally the charge of Met Con Blue, deemed Canada's most insane 5 & 10km obstacle adventure race.
Recently announced mother-to-be, Stratus says, "This race has everything I loved about competing with WWE – participants of the race will be challenged to their physical limits with the obstacle course and even better will be the sense of accomplishment they will get once they complete it."
Met Con Blue offers a gruelling 5 kilometres with 15 hardcore obstacles, along with the impossible 10km Full Metal Jacket showcasing over 20 obstacles, all strategically placed throughout the course which takes place at Ontario's largest mountain resort. Participants starting and finishing from the Blue Mountain Village Plaza, can choose to take part in the regular timed race with age brackets, or Met Con Blue's Heroes Race which features a chance to run the race alongside real war heroes - 50% of the proceeds from this race will go to a Canadian Forces Solider on Fund. Teens aged 12-17 can take part in the Teen Core Challenge, and for children under the age of 12, there will be a free children's obstacle course set up in the Blue Mountain Village. The event is being is operated in conjunction with The Blue Mountain BBQ Championship. A Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), sanctioned event. Participants and attendees will be able to sample some of the country's best BBQ fare as top Teams compete for prizes. The BBQ Championships are a staging point leading up to events such as the American Royal World Series of Barbecue Invitational. Additional Met Con supporting events such as vendor area, beer garden, live bands and after parties will be taking place throughout the event.
