IGN: Trish Stratus talks Chris Jericho on DWTS
By Matt Fowler
Recently, on a visit to the Simi Valley set of USA's new WWE wrestling reality show, Tough Enough, IGN had a chance to speak with seven-time WWE Women's Champion and WWE "Diva of the Decade" Trish Stratus about her new role as a trainer on the series. We also asked her, as someone who left the WWE to pursue other avenues (namely her Yoga Studio which can be found over at TrishStratus.com), what she thought about fellow Canadian, and frequent WWE defector, Chris Jericho being a part of the new season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
"I think it's amazing and he's the perfect choice, actually," Trish told us. "It's great when wrestlers -- superstars -- get this mainstream exposure. It gives them an opportunity to see that -- the people who don't watch wrestling, they don't understand really what it is. They're like, 'they just do some things with sweaty bodies in the ring,' but they'll find that a lot of us -- we have a great awareness of the production value of things. So, often we step into these environments that aren't our own, like shooting commercials or movies and they're just like -- the amount of training that we just get by being a WWE performer is just -- it's amazing and it starts to really come out when we do these outside things. You're like, 'Wow, you wrestlers are pretty good at this, or 'You guys are nice people.'"
"Chris is an amazingly talented person," Trish continued. "I think he's going to do great. As a WWE superstar -- they have great coordination and I think he can pick up the program and be just fine."
