If you bumped into a celebrity this weekend in Toronto, chances are they were in town for the fifth annual Joe Carter Classic. Bringing in a who's who list of legends from the sporting world and a few notable celebrities, the event, which to date has raised over $1 million, benefits the Children's Aid Foundation.

"We're very grateful to have benefited from the generosity of the Joe Carter Classic participants and sponsors," said Valerie McMurtry, president and CEO of the Children's Aid Foundation. "The programs that have been funded by this event have had a transformative effect on the young people we serve by reintegrating severely at-risk youth back into their families and communities, and by allowing our youth to achieve their full potential through post-secondary education."

A participant from its inception, Trish joined the star-studded lineup of over 40 sports icons for the two-day event which included Bo Jackson, Ray Bourque, "Dr. J" Julius Erving, Cito Gaston, Joffrey Lupul and Gordie Howe.

"To see the support all of these celebrities give to Joe for his event every year is amazing," Trish said. "We continue to come out each year to support the Children's Aid Foundation because of the amazing work they do. I'm honored to be a part of it."

The festivities kicked off with a VIP event at the Rogers Centre, where fans got a chance to watch the Jays vs. Yankees in the company of the best of the sporting world. Yesterday the celebs teed off at the Eagles Nest Golf Course in Maple, Ontario which included a day of golf, dinner and a live auction, and ended with a VIP celebrity afterparty in downtown Toronto.

Media filled the Red Carpet event at the Shangri-La hotel for the chance to chat with the sports stars, as well as TVs Charlie Sheen, Alan Thicke and former Fresh Price of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro

The party kicked off with a huge crowd response after a recap video of Joe Carter's iconic walk-off home run, which won the World Series for the Toronto Blue Jays in 1993. After some words from Carter, partygoers were treated to more 90s nostalgia with performances from Biz Markie and Salt-n-Pepa.
