SNAP Vaughan East: Trish Stratus gives Leafs D-Men Stratusfaction
Luke Schenn and Garnet Exelby are challenged by the NHL's most skilled and physical forwards on a daily basis as defensemen for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The bone-crushing checks they deliver, and subsequently receive, would be enough to make most people hang up their skates and find another occupation. As tough as they are, the guys definitely struggled with a recent test of their mental and physical prowess. (And no, Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby were nowhere to be found.)
None other than Trish Stratus, 7-time WWE Women's Champion and certified yoga instructor and proprietor of Stratusphere Yoga Studio in Vaughan, put the Leafs' D-Men through a gruelling, and at times hilarious, yoga session at her studio. SNAP was invited to Stratusphere to capture the priceless moments from the session, which was filmed for a segment on LEAFS TV and also included LEAFS TV host Andi Petrillo. Trish, Andi, and the guys went through a number of yoga poses to show, "how a yoga practice facilitates the mind-body connection," and improves, "flexibility, core strength, balance and stamina," according to Stratus.
To further express how yoga can help anyone, Stratus wants to extend the challenge to all of you too! Mention SNAP when you walk into Stratusphere and receive a free trial session. And for those of you who have already been ‘Stratus-fied", until Dec. 31st. you can take advantage of unlimited yoga sessions at the beautiful studio located in the Village at Vaughan Mills, 255 Bass Pro Mills Dr. for only $74.99/mth.
