'I Could Totally Kick Pam's Ass'

Press     March 3, 2006

Trish Stratus confirmed the obvious with regard to alleged rival Pamela Anderson.

"I could totally kick Pam's ass," Stratus said yesterday.

Talk about a record-breaking pay-per-view event. Take my money, please.

Actually, the two blonde bombshells are not on bad terms at all. But light-hearted comparisons have been in vogue since last week, when it was announced that Stratus is hosting the gala ceremony for Canada's Walk Of Fame and Anderson is hosting the Juno Awards.

"(The comparisons) are a bit of a competitive challenge for me, to try to prove myself, because Pam is an established celebrity who is known worldwide," Stratus said.

Stratus wants people to get their facts right, though. During a visit to The Toronto Sun, the diminutive but deadly WWE superstar set the record straight on a couple of fronts.

"In one publication they said I'm 32, and I'm proudly 30," Stratus said. "Collagen lip injections? No. And the one thing that really got me was they said that compared to Pam's 11 Playboy appearances, I had one. But I have zero appearances in Playboy, if you don't mind me stating that here.

"A lot of girls in the WWE have done that because they wanted to, and it's something they wanted out of their careers. But it's something I'm just completely not into. It's not my thing. I never want to walk away from the wrestling industry with people saying, 'She's the one who was in Playboy.' I want them to say, 'She was the best woman wrestler ever.' "

Either consciously or subconsciously, Stratus is planting the seeds for a post-wrestling career. The Walk Of Fame gig is a perfect example, as is her current role in an elaborate, interactive, internet-based ad campaign for Tag men's body spray.

"It's neat that there have been opportunities in the past couple of years that allow me to step outside the box and show a different side, like performing with the Second City here in Toronto or being on Royal Canadian Air Farce, things like that," Stratus said. "Anything I've done so far that has been outside wrestling, it has been amazing that so many loyal, loyal fans have been there to support me."

Stratus isn't nervous about her Walk Of Fame adventure.

"I saw Tom Green do it last year and I was, like, 'I could totally do that,' " she said with a laugh. "We're going to have some good writers working with me and a great group of people, and their confidence in me gives me confidence to do it."

Could Stratus get her own star someday?

"Ooh, that would be an amazing honour," she said. "Mind you, Bret Hart probably would have to get his star first.

"Or, we could fight over it."
