Stratus among Hall of Famers supporting Summerside's youth
Trish Stratus took to the podium Monday night at the Credit Union Place to present the Boy and Girl of the Year Award with Summerside native, Florida Panthers head coach Gerard Gallant. The Boys and Girls Club of Summerside's Celebrity Gala Dinner also treated the crowd to an appearance by NHL Hall of Famers Ray Bourque and Guy Lafleur who participated in a Q&A session. The guest speaker of the night was CFL Hall of Famer, Mike "Pinball" Clemons who electrified the crowd with a motivational speech that took the audience on a roller coaster of emotion. The sports stars were in town as part of a 3-day fundraiser to help raise funds for its newest addition – their Youth Engagement Centre.
The 12th annual Remax Harbourside Boys and Girls Club of Summerside Celebrity Dinner Gala also featured two of its hometown girls with a performance by Trinity Bradshaw, who attended the club as a youth, and two-time Olympic gold medalist Heather Moyse.
The evening celebrated the club's volunteers and recognized the outstanding contributions with awards going to several of its active youth.
The celebs then went on to participate in the club's annual Celebrity Golf Tournament in an effort to continue to raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Summerside.
