Women’s wrestling wrote another chapter this past Saturday in its storied history with the industry’s first all-female convention, and Trish Stratus was on-hand as the headline participant.
The all-day extravaganza included two feature portions. First, the Women in Wrestling Fan Expo
and later Lasting Legacy: A Tribute to Women in Wrestling
at the Coastline Convention Center. All events took place in Wilmington, NC.
Kicking off with an autograph session, Trish met with fans from all over the country for 2 hours before joining with Amy Dumas for a special Team Bestie photo op. Most of the fans who took the opportunity to meet Trish were fresh faces.
“Getting the opportunity to see the fans who have supported women’s wrestling over the years was incredible,” Trish said. “It was awesome to see so many people from around the country gather in Wilmington to be a part of this event.”
During the Fan Expo, there was a two-hour pro wrestling show from Masters of Ring Entertainment's pro wrestling brand, Just Cause Pro Wrestling, featuring all top independent women talent from around the country in a special tournament. The finals of the tournament featured Kacee Carlisle vs NWA Women’s World Champion Santana Garrett in a hard-fought match between both competitors. Garrett was presented the trophy by Lisa Moretti (Ivory in WWE).
Along with the wrestling card and autograph session was a VIP Q&A panel that featured Trish Stratus, Lisa Moretti (Ivory), Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria /Tara), Terri Runnels, Missy Hyatt and Little Egypt in one of the biggest assemblies of female talent ever together on stage.
“When you look at who was up there taking fan questions, you had such a blend of competitors, valets and interviewers that it truly became a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Trish said.

The event then wrapped with a gala, where each of the women spoke, including Trish, who gave the evening’s keynote address. In talking about the women of today's generation who are performing, Trish was grateful for the hard work the ladies are putting in.
“Thank you to those who are carrying the torch of women's wrestling today,” Trish said in closing, “who have truly made the blood, the sweat and the tears, a lasting legacy to be proud of.“
