Following hot on the heels of the announcement last week that "Macho Man" Randy Savage was entering the WWE Hall of Fame, the company announced legendary actor Arnold Schwarzenegger as its latest honoree; and Trish Stratus couldn't be happier for this year's Celebrity Wing inductee.
"I'm so pleased to I hear that Arnie has been given this honor!" Trish said. "I've always been a huge fan of his work – from his rise in the bodybuilding world to his movies, I truly believe he's deserving of this recognition."
Trish first met Schwarzenegger in 1998 at his signature event, The Arnold Classic, while she was a fitness model for Robert Kennedy Publishing, and more recently exchanged pleasantries with the former Governor of California once again at the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony where Trish was immortalized herself. Schwarzenegger inducted longtime friend Bruno Sammartino.
Over the years, Schwarzenegger has maintained close ties to WWE. Most famously, he appeared on an early episode of WWE SmackDown! where he interjected himself into an elimination tag match, involving D-Generation X against a team of Superstars led by Shane McMahon.
"A lot of WWE fans forget that Arnold has been not only a fan of WWE for decades, but has been part of several broadcasts and championed our industry time and time again," Trish said.
