"The Play Exchange is the first of its kind in Canada, harnessing our country’s innovative spirit and capitalizing on the momentum we already have in our country to encourage children and youth and all Canadians to be more active," commented Rona Amborse, Minister of Health. "We look forward to supporting the winning idea with up to $1 million to implement their innovation."

A few of the finalist have actual champions that have come on board to advocate their ideas. Three-time world champion, Patrick Chan, an Olympic silver medalist, wheelchair racer Chantal Petitclerc, a 14-time Paralympic gold medalist and 7-time WWE Women's Champion and Hall of Famer Trish Stratus will represent three of the finalists. The remaining three groups are supported by television personality Jessica Holmes, HGTV star Scott McGillivray and Wab Kinew, director of Indigenous Inclusion at the University of Winnipeg.

Trish will be representing Ophea, a not-for-profit organization that champions healthy, active living in schools and communities through quality programs and services, partnerships and advocacy. It is led by the vision that all children and youth value and enjoy the lifelong benefits of healthy, active living. Their submission "Healthy Schools: Putting Students First", is a program that will teach schools how to use a simple process to create healthier student communities, based on the school’s own unique needs and context.
